Hardware features
The EPC-A8-80-R has several expansion connectors on the backside – 4 USB 2.0 connectors, 1 LAN connector, 1 CAN connector, 2 RS485 connectors, and 2 RS232 connectors. It also features a 3.5mm audio connector.
Please note that a WiFi/BT module and a 3G module don’t come with the product by default, but can be added. Use the menu in the top right corner of the product page to add these modules if you need them.
The CAN, RS485, RS232 connector is a 12 Pin 3.81mm screw terminal connector (as you can see from the image).
The speed of the RS232 and the RS485 port is up to 115200 Baud.
The EPC-A8-80-R has one channel 100Mb Ethernetport and one TF (uSD) card connector. This device supports a TF card of up to 32GB.
When it comes to audio capabilities, the EPC-A8-80-R has one 3.5mm Output/input connector and a 2W internal speaker.
The typical power consumption is 6W.

At the core of each Chipsee product lies a System-on-Module. This means all the products share the same core. It makes your application easily upgradable – without needing to rewrite a single line of code your application is upgraded, thanks to the same System-on-Module.
This product features the CS-SOM335X-V3 System-on-Module, based on the AM3354 ARM Cortex-A8 processor.
The AM3354 microprocessor is enhanced with image, graphics processing, peripherals and industrial interface options such as EtherCAT and PROFIBUS. The devices support high-level operating systems (HLOS).
The microprocessor unit (MPU) subsystem is based on the ARM Cortex-A8 processor and the PowerVR SGX™ Graphics Accelerator subsystem provides 3D graphics acceleration to support display and gaming effects.
Display and Touchscreen
EPC-A8-80-R features a 8’’ resistive display with a 800×600 pixel resolution, and brightness of 250 nits.
When it comes to the viewing angle, the screen offers various angles: top, bottom, left, and right view.
